Overview

Concretions is gall bladder and biliary pathways and their complications are the most frequent diseases ofbiliary pathways in adult patients. They affect 10 - 20% proportion of the population in countries entertaininghigh standard of living. They belong to frequent causes of hospitalization. The occurrence at the child age is ratherrare, but is encountered more frequently in adolescents. They occur, however, in all period of life. The authorsreview literature dealing with these problems and include case reports of patients with different clinical manifestationsof cholelithiasis in children of different age, who were examined and treated at the Clinic for Children andAdolescents and theWard of Surgery at the Faculty Hospital in Královské Vinohrady, Prague.
