The objective of the work was to review causes of adrenal insufficiency in neonatal age, its diagnosis andtreatment. The authors focused their attention also on the development and function of the adrenals during thefoetal period and in immature neonates and they draw attention to possible pathological associations. In the thirdpart they demonstrate their own experience with patients suffering from adrenal insufficiency.
