Overview
Background:
The authors presented the professional work of the most necessary knowledge to diagnose leukoplakia and erythroplakia as precancerous conditions of the oral cavity. The authors describe their definition and characteristics, and note that these conditions are rated among the white lesions of oral mucousa. Part of this article presents an overview of the occurrence of leukoplakia and erythroplakia.
Clinical picture, process of creation, subjective complaints of patients, an overview of the most needed diagnostic methods and recommendations for practice and differential diagnosis are documented and described in detail in the article. The authors warn doctors in practice to pay attention to a keratinization disorder of the oral mucosa.
