Overview
Summary:
In the submitted paper the authors mention the indications, therapeutic proce-dures and practical findings concerning repair of dentoalveolar and skeletal malocclusions bymeans of a facial mask. The work is based on the authors theoretical study published in thejournal Česká stomatologie (Czech Stomatology) in 1998. The transfer of orthopaedic force bydorsoventral traction to the maxillary complex stimulates the growth potential of the maxillaand influences its growth in a sagittal and vertical direction. Clinical findings and experimentalstudies confirm the stability of therapeutic changes in particular during the period of growthand development of the nasomaxillary complex. Favourable results were recorded also in therepair of dental discrepancies.
