Local muscular load of the upper limbs – methodical instructions to ensure a uniform procedure for authorized measurement, assessment and interpretation of the results of measurement of local muscular load by the method of integrated electromyography – design

Overview

On 14 August 2020, the National Reference Laboratory for Occupational Physiology of the Health Institute based in Ostrava was appointed by the Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic, MUDr. Jarmila Rážová, Ph.D., elaboration of methodical instructions to ensure a uniform procedure for authorized measurement, assessment and interpretation of the results of local muscle load measurement by the method of integrated electromyography.

In cooperation with the Department of Public Health Protection of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Prague, a draft Methodological Manual was prepared to ensure a uniform procedure for authorized measurement, assessment and interpretation of local muscle load measurement by integrated electromyography for work categorization, state health supervision and employers to identify risky types of work and to set conditions in the field of health protection of workers and the draft Methodological Guide to ensure a uniform procedure for authorized measurement, assessment and interpretation of local muscle load measurement by integrated electromyography for the purpose of objectification of working conditions in the investigation of diseases for the purpose of assessing occupational diseases.

These two draft methodologies are presented to the professional public for wide discussion.
